What Are The Best Parks For Kids In La Mesa, CA?

With a huge open grass area, long winding  sidewalks, challenging play-structure, tennis courts and ample shade, La Mesita Park off of Dallas St in North La Mesa is one of the ‘go to’ parks for my family.

Why We Love It

La Mesita Park was the first designated area for Wren’s first Soccer Shots program.  The huge grass areas allow for multiple camps running at the same time.  After the sessions were over, Wren wanted to head to the playground area with her little friends to play.

This just became one of her favorite places to go.

Bike Riding

The sidewalks and hoop-less basketball court allow for kids who are just learning to ride with or without training wheels to sharpen their skills.  The long sidewalk that loops the entire park has a decent size hill on it for the ‘daring’ rider…

Birthday Parties

There are many benches and tables where you can post up and have a birthday party or gathering.  A covered gazebo is available to reserve with a permit with The City Of La Mesa as well.  We had Wren’s first Birthday Party there.
