With an election coming up this November, I wanted to touch on something that becomes a problem for people when they buy a new home.
In the past, I’ve always had to remind my clients that once you purchase a new home you’ve got to make sure that you do the ‘post-purchase’ little things like, put the WATER in your name, the ELECTRIC BILL has got to be put in your name and you have to take care of your SEWER and TRASH to make sure everything is setup for when you move in.

What people don't realize sometimes, as you move into a different location within the County or even in your town, you might be in a different VOTING DISTRICT. You need to find out where you are and who your Representatives are in that District so you can vote.
It's something we don't think about most of the time especially since we vote every couple years but because of this upcoming election, I'm just reminding myself that I have to tell my buyers ‘hey find out if you're in a new district and if you need to re-register’.
You don't want to have to find out the last minute or show up at your regular voting / polling place and realize you can't vote.
To find out how to re-register, Google [the name of your County] voter registration and follow from there.
